Clause 3.3 requires written authorisation to leave mainland Australia (unless linked by bridge) or to leave Tasmania.
Effective July 2026.
Clause 9.3(g) prohibits the crossing in either direction.

Conflicting sources: the FAQ bans taking cars to or from Tasmania; clause 3.19 allows the ferry from the mainland.
